Monday in Montellano

Last night we celebrated Lorell's birthday. She is from Colorado and this is her first time to Guatemala. Now that is some cake!!

Dawn and I finished the night shift and all of the patients did well. The moon was full and pretty and the night passed fairly quickly well. It is always good to see the 7A nurses come in.

Rick placed me in the apartment and I slept well during the day.

There were 14 surgeries done today and I have heard that everyone did well.

Kemmel and Lisa were kind and had the kitchen staff place two chile rellanos in the fridge. What a pleasant surprise!!

Tonight, Rick led the devotion on how God is light and what it means to us.

This is the group from South Fork.....Betty, Anne, Charlie, Jennie, Julie and Nancy. I am very thankful that South Fork is here this week and has the opportunity to learn more about the work. Betty has been helping out in the OR or where ever she is needed. Anne has been translating for the patients. Charlie is also doing whatever is needed......working in the OR or pulling teeth. Jennie has been working in the OR and Nancy is working shifts in the recovery area. They will have opportunities to go out and experience some medical mobile clinics too.

These are the Carolina Girls.........Julie and Jennie! I found out that they spent a few years together at the Carolina Bible Camp in Mocksville, NC!

I will be working the night shift again............we will pray that all goes well and the patients have a restful night!
