Church in India

Not too long ago, I mentioned a church in India and that I had been talking to the minister from there. He has sent some photos of their work there and I wanted to share then with you.

It is so easy for us to have tunnel vision and only focus on the church in our area and forget that others in the world might be struggling and need or thoughts and prayers. This congregation is very active with the widows, orphans and the handicapped people in there area. We know that helping others is a command but do we really put it into motion?

This is the minister that I have been talking to and he is in the home of one of the church members.

The gentleman that died here was a member of The Church of Christ.

Here is a photo of a baptism in the community.

We all are born and we all will die........and what happens after death is based on how we live. Lisa and I were talking on Tuesday about baptism and Romans 6:3-4.

Don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the father, we too may live a new life."

We have to die to self and be baptized so we may have a new life. It is something that many people struggle with but yet it determines what happens after our death. It has been exciting to hear of the baptisms here in Guatemala and the baptisms in India. The gospel does not change.......it is the same today as it was in the New Testament times and it does not change with borders of a country.

Sheri, I must say again, how special I think this is....your blog allows people who cannot be there with you experience things in mind and spirit which they can not experience physically. I love reading about all you do and the lives God allows you to touch. You are an inspiration to so many...a true servant for the Lord. May God continue to bless you and your work.
