Eastside meets Xepocol

We met as usual for breakfast and then drove to Xepocol. We heard that there might not be many patients until the afternoon but that was ok. We prepared to see patients, built a whiteboard for education, constructed a table and planned to teach the children.

Ferne and Mary enjoy the Xepocol sun while we wait for patients.

Marcos entertained us with his new set teeth.

Gaspar does not think the new table is as heavy as it looks..................

We broke the new table in with fried chicken, rice and tamalitos. We had pickled vegetables that we could not get enough of......................but we shared to the last drop!

The children received tooth brushes in the afternoon after Mary Jo demonstrated how to brush the teeth. She borrowed Marcos' teeth :)

The children enjoyed coloring and singing.

Hmmmmmm...................Mary is showing us how to, "put your back side, you take your back side out.......you put your back side and then ya shake it all about.........."

The guys also built and put up a white board that can be used for education. Gaspar and other members of the congregation were really excited!!

We had a total of 31 medical patients and 11 dental patients.

We gathered for a group shot on the new table..........that table IS under there!

As usual, more was received than what was given. The Church in Xepocol, in their actions demonstrated the following scripture.

Hebrews 13:1-2
Keep on loving one another as Christians. Remember to welcome strangers in your homes. There were some who did that and welcomed angels without knowing.

Even though we are strangers in regards to culture and language we are brothers and sister in Christ.

Tomorrow..........another day and another adventure...............................
