Katy meets Paxot II

Today, Katy and I went to Paxot II for clinic. We had 17 patients for the day. This is the view from the Paxot II Church of Christ building. It was a beautiful day!

We had a great clinic. The brothers were very kind and helped us with the clinic. The father of Manuel translated for us and then served us atole and bread for our mid-morning snack.

At lunch time we walked to Manuel's house and his daughter, Roxanne, accompanied us. This is Katy and Manuel's daughter.

Here we are eating a wonderful lunch of chicken, beans and tamalitos. To the far left is Manuel's dad, Tomas. Next to Tomas is Enrique, Katy and Tomas. Yes, they wanted their photo but did not smile :)

After we ate, we went to visit two patients that could not walk to clinic.

One gentleman is an elder in the church. I know him but he has lost so much weight, I hardly recognized him. He has been bed for several days. I hope that the medicine that we gave him will help.

The other patient was a child that got kicked by another child at school and also has been in bed for several days. There were no obvious signs of problems and he could move his leg when encouraged to do so. His mom has not encouraged him to move at all and this has not helped. He walked to the door slowly but did ok. I think his family is afraid of him moving but that is what he needs to do.

We enjoyed dinner with Lisa and Kemmel tonight in Chichi. One of the restaurants has a wonderful vegetable plate so that is what we all had.

Tomorrow, we will go to Chiqua. This is our new clinic and I think it will be an exciting day!
