Monday in Montellano

It is going to be a full week!  There are so many people that have active roles, but at times are not thought of.  Below are Julie, Sylvia ,Carlos, Dante and Alfred.

Julie is leading the group this week.  Sylvia is a dentist in Montellano and Carlos organizes activities here.  Sylvia, Carlos and Dante are expecting another addition to the family in a few weeks!  Alfred does a great job in the sterilization room.  Never a dull moment.........

Doyle, Paula and Bob working hard in the sterilization room.  Without this room working at full-speed, the surgeries would not be able to continue.

To recruit patients for the surgery clinics, we need to find the patients in different communities.  Katy, is heading out to see patients in a clinic today.  Cynthia, is translating for those working in the surgical clinic this week.

This is Angelica and it is almost time for her surgery.  Her mom is ready for the moment!

The baby will be in surgery for about 2 - 2.5 hours.  When the surgery is over, the baby is placed in the arms of the parent.  Angelica just a few moments after leaving the operating room.

What a change for the parents!

The surgery can be a stressful time for the parents.  Cynthia brought out a game for the mothers to play as we waited.  Of course, they had never seen anything like this and really enjoyed it!  It was fun watching them discuss different strategies.

Everyone had a chance to try their hand at it.

Then it was Marcos' time for surgery.

While Marcos was back in surgery, Hector Fredy enjoyed his last bottle before it was his turn.

Marcos back in his mother's arms.

When he was fully awake, it was time to enjoy lunch!

Micah, getting more patients ready for the operating room.  The adults line up outside, waiting their turn.

Osman and his parents waiting for their surgery tomorrow.

Yonny will also have his surgery tomorrow.

Anderson Joel is also on the schedule tomorrow.

The surgical clinics and community clinics are only part of what happens with Health Talents.  There are many different aspects of the ministry.  A few years ago, Jeronimo was a Mayan Priest.  Members of his family had visited a few clinics and he saw a difference in his family from the care they had received.  He later had problems sleeping, as his spirit was being convicted.  He soon realized that he needed Christ in his life.  He asked the same question as the people did in Acts and he learned that he also needed to be baptized.  He was then baptized in the river behind the clinic in Montellano.  We know that the angels rejoiced as he became a child of God.

Tomorrow, we will have a another full day!  Stay tuned!
