Pepperdine meets Chuchuca

We met early at Santo Tomas for breakfast and then went to two different clinics. One was in Clinica Carris and the other was in Chuchuca.

The clinic in Chuchuca was a special clinic for the ABC children in this area. The children had school in the morning so we would not begin the consults until their classes had finished. We knew it was going to be a long day but that was ok. The drive was uneventful and the roads were not bad.

When we arrived, everyone pitched in and unloaded the trucks.

With everyone helping, it did not take long to unload both trucks and set up all of the stations.

Lisa and Brian saw patients and we had two dentists.

With Gaspar cleaning teeth, we had all services available.

This was a Pepperdine group shot before we started working with patients.

There were a few early patients so the students entertained them with painting fingernails.

One little boy wanted his painted and you know we do not like any dissatisfied customers :)

Some painted arms and faces.

There is a lot of concentration in this photo.

This little girl wanted my camera.

Lisa pointing out to Brian where we are in Guatemala as Kemmel watches the other activities.

Lunch was wonderful.........steak, beans, cucumbers, radishes, pineapple and tortillas. The Guatemalans are always very kind and generous while appreciating the groups that come down to help.

We finished the day by seeing 33 children. We arrived back in Chichi about 8pm. We were served a late dinner and then had a quick meeting about how things would go in the morning.
