Tuesday at Clinica Ezell

Tuesday was another day of surgery. This is Anastacia before her surgery. I did not want to wake her before her trip to the operating room. When she was taken to the back, the parents stood at the door and cried. Kemmel got them a chair and they sat there for the longest time not wanting to move. We gave them updates that everything was going well and finally the surgery was over.

Anastacia came out to the recovery area and her mother was able to hold her again.

This is a nurse, Ruth, that has brought patients twice to Montellano. This is one of the patients, Enrique, that she brought this time with her. During the week, she has helped staff the recovery area.

Enrique, just a few minutes after his surgery.

This is Amilia, the morning after her surgery.

Here is Edison, the morning after his palate was repaired.

Wilmer, is one child full of energy and personality. The nurses were pushing him around in a stroller while he waived and entertained them.

Edison, Wilmer and Jose Angel will return to their home tomorrow afternoon. Hector will be here around 1pm. There is also a chance that Anastasia and Amilia will go home or stay one more night.

After our devotional tonight, we went down to the recovery area again and talked with the parents. We talked with them about their responsibilities as parents to their children physically and spiritually. It is obvious that parents want their children to grow and to do well. The same applies and is even more important with spiritual matters.

We talked about the members of the church visiting last night and how they talked about Acts, chapter 2. The people asked the question, "What must we do to be saved?" That very same question must be asked today and the answer remains the same. I asked each parent to think about their relationship with God and if it is what it should be.

I really appreciate the help of Rosario and Cata this week. They have been my K'iche' voice and have been a great help.
