Day of the Dead in Antigua

After I posted yesterday, I went behind the market where hundreds of people were flying kites. It was quite a task to walk around without getting hung by the kite strings. There were people of all ages with many different sizes and styles of kites..........many people were happy with their kite flying ability and others were very frustrated.

The area was too large so there is not a good photo to show the amount of people participating in the activity.

This dad was excited and he had the full support of his family............

..........when he finally had Spiderman in the air.

This group had the largest kite yesterday. Three of the guys would run with it and then it would crash. The little guy being toted around by Willie, #21 did not seem to mind the action............

........and then it finally was a success!

This last photo is the worst dream of a serious kite flyer...........I think many people went home disappointed in their skill......................

................but hopefully they will return in 2009 to try again :)
