We were about 20 minutes away from the community when Gaspar received the telephone call saying there were over 30 patients already waiting!! Brett and Kassi were in the truck with Gaspar and I and we all let out a little squeal of excitement. That excitement lasts for a few minutes and then the awareness of the responsibility begins to grow. It is an exciting opportunity but responsibility comes with it.
When we arrive, there were a lot of people waiting. We greeted everyone and then unloaded the truck. There were 6 people from the Church wanting to help us and they had already prepared the area for us. Two sisters help register patients, one brother helped translate when the students did their vital signs, one brother helped me translate, another helped direct the patients when it was their turn and one prayed with the patients after the consult. The flow of the patients went very smoothly and all 48 patients were seen!
When lunch time arrived, Melina and Kassi went to the truck to make bean and cheese sandwiches.
Aaron tried his best convince people today that Manuel is is dad.......for some reason no one could see the resemblance :):)
Everyone wanted a photo of the group that participated today. The Church members thanked us many times. We in turn thanked them and reminded them that this is their ministry. We are only there to help them. Many congregations have grown in areas we do clinics and it will be interesting to see what will happen in this area. They said they would like to have clinic once a month. We will do our best to do that.........and all for the Glory of God!
This was my last clinic with this group of students. I have messages from Brett and Kassi that I will post. They have been a great group.....families and friends can be very proud of them. I will see them again on Monday morning before I go to the City if anyone has comments they want to send......and thanks for reading the blog!

Thanks for keeping us up to date. We appreciate you and are blessed on how Christ is working through you.
Tell Aaron that Skidmore (he'll know who I mean) said to tell him that he is proud of him (we all are)and to write him.
Also, tell him Manuel can be his dad down there, but I want my duties back when he comes home (ha!).
Wish the whole team well.
In Christ,
John
