Mt. Carmel Church of Christ

I flew to NC following the HTI Board Meeting.  I had a few very busy days but they were good. I purchased a Nissan Pathfinder to pull the RV, which is a Dutchman Kodiak.  It has been a very exciting time and hope to take it out on the road and actually spend the night in it.

I went up to visit Kristi and Barbara, her mom.  I was also invited to speak at the Mt. Carmel Church of Christ about Health Talents International.

Kristi has been studying for her certification as a Spanish Translator.  I knew how busy her schedule has been so I took my studies as well.  I am preparing for my Nursing CEU's and they are on Death, Dying and Bereavement.

Kristi took me to an area that her family has by a river.  Different family members park their RV's by the river and enjoy their weekends together!  I think that this is an awesome idea.  It was good to see Barbara again and I also had the opportunity to meet her dad :)

On Sunday morning, following worship, we had a meal together and I shared what Health Talents is doing in Guatemala.

Barbara will be returning in August and will also bring one or two people with her this time.  I have encouraged more people to come down and participate in the groups.  There is so much work that needs to be done and everyone can find something valuable to do.

I shared these photos with the congregation.  This is Barbara with Victor and his mom, just minutes following his surgery.  Kristi's Spanish Class sponsored Victor's surgery for a class project.

This is Kristi, when she was translating in the OR in Montellano.  It was her first trip in this role and it is one that she loves!

Kristi and I as we finished in the afternoon.............

It was a quick trip but a good one.  I also met Ava, who sponsored Dillon's surgery and the rest of Ava's family.  I am disappointed to say that I did not get any photos of her and I am sad about that.

I will be returning to NC to visit some other areas.  I am looking forward to the challenge and hope to encourage many new people to visit Guatemala and the work that Health Talents is doing.
